One of the series of lectures about "starting run-up"---the use of MATLAB

The Mathematical Modeling Association held a series of training lectures about "starting run-up" in E5206d classroom at 2:00 p.m. on April 14. In this lecture, we invited Mr. Yang Xiaodong as a special guest. All officers of association and some interested students attended the lecture. The purpose of this lecture is to introduce the methods, skills and related tools about using the MATLAB. This make students have a deep understanding to MATLAB, and lay a foundation for model building in future mathematical modeling competition.

At the beginning of the lecture, the host introduced Mr. Yang Xiaodong's profound attainments in MATLAB as a mathematics experiment instructor to the students. After then, Mr. Yang Xiaodong listed the examples of MATLAB in mathematical modeling. At the same time, he introduced many basic methods of MATLAB and analyzed some applicable fields -- numerical analysis and symbolic calculation, design and Simulation of engineering and scientific drawing control system, digital image processing technology, digital signal processing technology, etc, The teacher's explanation is humorous but rigorous, and the students very carefully to listen. At the end, the teacher give some answers about the students' questions. In the face of the students' doubts, Yang Xiaodong give a patiently answered and extended the questions. His wonderful answers won the warm applause of the students.

At the end of this lecture, we have a post interview, the students all said that they had great benefits in this lecture and had a clear understanding of the use of MATLAB and were full of confidence in future mathematical modeling. It is clear that this lecture has achieved the expected effect.
