About Us

The Research Centre for Mathematics and Interdisciplinary Sciences (RCMIS) of Shandong University (SDU) is an independent scientific research institution directly under the University. The Centre was established at Shandong University (Qingdao Campus) in November 2018. After more than one year’s construction with the support of the University and various departments and institutes, RCMIS has developed a strong research team consisting of over twenty full-time faculty members plus around twenty visiting professors, thirty postgraduates studying at RCMIS. Moreover, RCMIS is able to provide superior research conditions and environment for mathematicians and data scientists. In the fourth China Discipline Ranking, mathematics of SDU was officially recognized as A+. RCMIS deeply cooperates with the Academy of Mathematics and Systems Science, Chinese Academy of Sciences. Integrating domestic and overseas research talents in mathematics and other related disciplines, RCMIS has established several research groups in fields of financial mathematics, control theory, data science, cryptology, biological mathematics, ocean mathematics, and pure mathematics, etc.

With the aim to further expand research groups at RCMIS and to focus on cutting-edge international academic developments, we cordially invite you to attend the ‘International Forum on Young Talents in Mathematics and Interdisciplinary Sciences at Shandong University’, which will be held at RCMIS, March 23-24, 2020.
